MONKEY HILL HIKE Sunday April 20th
10:30am departure - please arrive by 10:15am

More hikes planned for later this summer. watch for dates

Yoga For Living is teaming up with Perfect Balance Yoga for a Spring hike. We will meet in the Perfect Balance Yoga parking lot located at Shaw and Fresno and car pool to Hanuman Hill. Located just 55 minutes from the studio, off the four lane, six miles below Shaver Lake. Bring a sack lunch and water.

This six acre hillside oasis derives it's name from the Indian monkey deity Hanuman, renowned for his courage, power, and faithful selfless service. Yoga For Living acquired this property in 2004, the year of the Monkey. One day it will house a yoga retreat. For now it is a slice of untamed wilderness. Join us as we climb the mountain. Giant moss covered rocks, a massive 200 year old oak tree, pines and the sweet smell of bear clover will transport you into a place of gentle beauty and quietness.

A few need to knows:
Long pants are a must as we may encounter poison oak and mosquitoes (bring mosquito repellent if the little guys like you). There are no restrooms although one is located 2 miles up the road by car. Hiking shoes are recommended and remember this is a HIKE not a WALK, this means uneven terrain and a lot of up hill climbing, with that said, the pace is slow, with many rests along the way and lots of beautiful places to stop and enjoy the beauty.
Bring your yoga mat as we will be doing a meditation and short yoga practice.

$10 fee
call 559-432-9642 to register or sign up at the studio.

Being Present in Your Practice,
Healing the MindBody Split

LECTURE
Friday May 9, 2008 7:00-8:30pm - $25
This lecture and seminar series is dedicated to our awakening to our
bodies as extensions of our minds
and doorways to meaning.

WORKSHOP
Saturday May 10, 2008 10:30am-1:30pm - $40
Principles of TaiChi practice & Sound Meditation

Saturday May 10, 2008 2:30pm-5:30pm - $40
Postural awareness practice to enhance movement potential,  paired with subtle and rhythmic movement practices

We will practice learning “from the inside” and begin a release of tension caused by dissociation of awareness of our body and being in our head. Western science now confirms that the mind is not just a program in the brain, but that its processes are distributed throughout the body. This acknowledgement ends centuries of mind/body splitting in Western thinking.

Emotional Freedom Technique,  (EFT),  will be introduced in both sessions.  EFT is an effective self-empowering and balancing practice within the energy medicine and energy psychology paradigms.
